Review: Paris: A Love Story by Kati Marton

Date Read - January 30, 2013
Source - Public Library

When Kati Marton was a young college student, she fell head-over-heels in love with the City of Lights. Paris offered a rich history and a refuge from her haunting and painful memories from communist Hungary (As outlined in her previous memoir "Enemies of the People). Years later, she would return as a journalist and in love with the legendary ABC anchor, Peter Jennings. Fifteen years and two children later, their marriage crumbled and it was Paris that served as a balm for Kati's broken heart. It was there that Kati received a second chance at love with Richard Holbrooke, a fearless diplomat with a heart of gold. "Paris: A Love Story" is a gorgeous tribute to both the city and to her two lost loves, more so towards Richard Holbrooke. Painful but beautifully rendering that will linger for a long time.
